Mount Washington Valley Trails

West Side

Lower Moats – Tucked under the Lower Moat Mountains, there are some great easy forested singletrack trails with a few challenges thrown in. You can find parking along side Cathedral Ledge Rd. , near the kiosk, and ride on the Echo Lake trails up through Hales Location to the connector trail and on to Forest Rd. (FR) 379. You’ll find the Ultimate Single Track and Electric Loop that are fun twisty trails. There are also some double track fire roads that are nice easy rides or great on a gravel bike.

High Street – High School Trail – In 2024 the H.S. trail is getting some much needed love, it’s always been a great ride, but a bit odd in how it fit into the area. Now there is a new singltrack that bypasses the FS road and makes it a true loop if ridden on it’s own.

Mineral Site – One of the original trails in the network, traditionally ridden as a downhill from the Mineral Site, double track to single track with some rock gardens. The trail ride s well both ways so be aware!

Stoney Ridge - Valley wide views from the top of White Horse ledge and chunky singletrack make this trail a true gem, it’s named Stoney Ridge for a reason! Best ridden as a loop from Mineral Site or Tent Boulder.

Tent Boulder- Classic New England singletrack. The first section is optional but offers a quick climb and descent. Otherwise this winds through a Hemlock forest at the foot of the Moats.

East SIde

Access to the East Side network is best from either end of the Rec Path which has parking at Hemlock ln on the south end and Mt Cranmore on the north end. There’s something for everyone on the East Side!

Sticks n Stones– Lot’s of fun, with some optional features. Kds love it and it’s right off the Rec Path.

Pillar to Pond & Muffler - Parallels the rec path and is a great way to connect a bigger loop. Smooth to rooty singletrack with bridges.

The Knot & Link- Super twisty rolling singletrack on the Knot followed by a mederate climb on Link, a great way to get to Rattlesnake and Swamp trails.

EKG & Cardiac hill- No surprise here, they’re climbing trails! Both take you up to Sidehill, EKG is nicely switchbacked and Cardiac is direct.

Sidehill & Rattlesnake- Running north to south, these fast rolling singletracks that will get you to Swamp and Outer Limits.

Outer Limits & Twilight Zone- Climb Outer Limits or Cheater to get to Twilight Zone. There’s a little bit of everything in this loop.

Marshall

Marshall Conservation – AKA, MCA, There’s something for all riders from easy doubletrack and handbuilt singletrack to machine built flow trails. Parking off the West Side Rd.

Big Rides Start Here- Marshall is a great spot to warm up for a bigger ride. Head out on Lager’s, connect to High School loop and head further out into the West Side network. Return through the lower West Side on Electric loop and FS rd back to Lager’s.
